Hands for Hope

The Hands for Hope group meets at 10:00 to 11:30 AM on the fourth Monday of the month throughout the year to sew, knit, crochet, work on looms, and create handmade items for our congregation, local charities, and places far from Shrewsbury. Depending on attendance, we gather in either the Church chapel or parlor.

Membership is not limited to members of FCC, and we have an amazing network of friends and relatives who contribute to our causes.

This group has made dresses for Haiti, blankets for the Linus Project, hats, mittens, Izzy dolls, prayer shawls, stoles, lap robes, and stress balls.  Recently, we were introduced to the need for sewn colorful pillowcases for Hospice patients.  We are always excited to try a new project!

Donations of fabric, yarn, uncompleted projects, and supplies are often received and are greatly appreciated.  Someone is always happy to complete a table runner, sew fabric which has been cut, or make a second mitten to complete a pair.

Yarn, fabric, patterns, and assistance are available for anyone who would like to join us or work on projects on their own.  Come when you can, you are welcome to join us!
